ARTIST BIO:
Patrick Ellis is a 22-year old amateur photographer from Canada. While starting his hobby in photography at the age of 17, it wasn't until he was 21 that he really found a deep interest in his artistic field. Patrick is an all-around digital photographer, but specializes with nature. Landscapes, waterscapes, geology and wildlife all play an important role in his daily shooting habits. His post-processing techniques range from the Orton Effect to HDR and everything inbetween. Patrick has even written a few tutorials explaining his techniques to assist other artists with their post-processing.
Born and raised in southern-Ontario, Patrick felt uninspired by the lack of nature in his surroundings. All there was were flat lands, factories, smog, and dreams of a better tomorrow. By early adulthood, he took the inititive to relocate over 4600km to the West Coast where he resides today. From that moment forward, Patrick began connecting more and more with nature, letting his creativity become unleashed. The majestic views of the Canadian Rockies and the Coast Mountains, beautiful sunsets over the Pacific Ocean, scenic hiking trails in the lush Temperate Rainforest, hidden watersheds, and the wide variety of wildlife inspire him to be very busy behind his Nikon D40.
As if that's not enough to keep him occupied, Patrick presently administrates a club on deviantART dedicated to the place he now calls home - Vancouver, British Columbia. He and his team work together to bring local artists together and promote their artwork of all forms, photography and beyond. |
